ScientistsThe Professional Scientist Remuneration Survey Report
The Professional Scientist Remuneration Survey Report contains salary information based on the results of APESMA's annual survey of professional scientists. The invitation to participate was forwarded to scientists by organisations belonging to Science & Technology Australia (formerly the Federation of Australian Scientific and Technical Societies - FASTS), as well as to the scientific membership of the Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers, Australia. Nearly 1,800 completed questionnaires were returned by the many thousands of scientists offered an opportunity to participate. All amounts are in Australian dollars ($AUD).

Online Salary CalculatorMembers of APESMA and subscribers to the Report are able to access the survey results on the website, using the interactive Professional Scientist Salary Calculator. Users can select a combination of position-related parameters and query the database to return specific remuneration levels related to that query. Parameters by which analysis may be performed include state, industry, qualification, years of experience, employment sector, scientific discipline and responsibility level. How to OrderThe report is published as a printed 92-page hard copy book which is forwarded by standard post, and an interactive online database accessible via the APESMA website. The report is not published in an emailable or downloadable soft copy format. The report can be ordered online, via secure e-commerce, or if you prefer, you can download and print an order form, and submit it by fax or mail. Note, phone or email orders will not be accepted. All amounts shown are in Australian dollars ($AUD). APESMA members can further benefit by purchasing the report at around 75% off the non-member price – however terms and conditions apply.
