Chifley Business School (Management Training)

We understand that many technical professionals ultimately move into management Chifley Business School, APESMA's wholly owned business and management educator, was established to provide our members with management training to help the transition into management roles.

Chifley offers post-graduate courses such as Graduate Diploma in Project Management, Strategic Leadership and Sustainability, and Business Strategy. These units count towards Chifley's MBA (Masters of Business Administration), giving you the immediate benefit of up-skilling or completing your CPD (Continuing Professional Development) requirements plus the option of completing an MBA at a later stage.

APESMA members receive discounted enrolment fees of $265 per unit. Over the duration of a full MBA this is a saving of more than $3,000.

Networking

We facilitate online communities around the special interests of our members, including professions, industry issues, and social and community issues. As a network of professionals we provide a platform for members to work together and achieve common goals. New interest groups only await your instigation.

  • ANET (Australian National Engineering Taskforce). Founded by APESMA, a national partnership of major engineering organisations that addresses the engineering training and capacity shortfall
  • APESMA Young Professionals. A network for young professionals building their career who want to make a positive difference and get ahead
  • APESMA Professional Women. An interest group focussed on issues of specific interest to professional women
  • APESMA Climate Connectors, Actively supports and promotes Union Climate Connectors in their activities to address climate change issues
  • Contractors & Consultants. A support network for contractors, consultants and other self- employed professionals.

Mentor Programs

With 25,000 members, APESMA has many professionals who are keen to help develop the next generation. We facilitate mentor programs, putting younger members in touch with more experienced professionals, allowing knowledge to be shared.

APESMA's Young Professionals Group Mentoring Program is tailored to meet the needs of those in the early years of their career.

For contractors and consultants we offer a Mentors Online program. Mentors Online matches professionals starting out in self employed business with professionals with an established background.

Events & Seminars

We run regular free seminars for our members in capital cities across Australia. They cover topics ranging from finding a job to negotiation skills, career progression, as well as financial planning, tax and investment, and special interests such as sustainability and climate change.
