Professional Women APESMA actively advocates for the greater participation and status of professional women in engineering, science and technology.
With skills shortages in engineering and science, there is now a compelling business imperative for organisations to maxmise the vital contribution of professional women. Consultation and FeedbackAPESMA's National Women's Co-ordinator Melanie O'Toole is eager to hear the views of members on issues effecting women and their employment. As the National Women's Co-ordinator Melanie participates in a range of forums to represent the views of professional women. These include but are not limited to the ACTU's Women's Committee and the Federal funded Economic Security for Women Council. Both forums provide the opportunity for national debate on issues effecting women and their employment. The National Women's Co-ordinator is an elected, voluntary position Your currently elected National Women's Coordinator is Melanie O'Toole, a leading workforce diversity commentator. She brings a wealth of policy experience, advocacy and networks to the role. This includes: - Former Director of the United Nations Development Fund for Women;
- Director and Advisor for the International Women's Chamber of Commerce and Industry;
- Policy contributor and delegate to the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation's Womens Leaders Network;
- Economic Adviser, National Council for Women;
- Founding Victorian Government appointee of the National Women in Global Business
- APESMA highlights role of women in meeting skills shortages - CEO signs the UN's Women's Empowerment Principles - APESMA
supports Consult Australia's Diverse Approaches initiative
